I have just released patch-2.1.131ac6-irda1 which should fix a lot of problems. I've sent the patch to Alan, but I just saw that he has put out ac7, so the code will probably not be in before ac8. You can however download it from my Linux/IR web-pages: http://www.cs.uit.no/~dagb/irda/snapshots/patch-2.1.131ac6/
