Hi, After being clarified about the volume problem when playing MIDIs on my AWE64 (and after first learning that the Emu chip has an equalizer on it ;-) I've come to realize that my 2.1.131ac7 drivers just don't show the equalizer at all.
My /proc/sound file shows:
OSS/Free:3.8s2++-971130 Load type: Driver loaded as a module Kernel: Linux scitus 2.1.131 #1 Wed Dec 9 16:11:26 CST 1998 i486 Config options: 0
Installed drivers:
Card config:
Audio devices: 0: Sound Blaster 16 (4.16) (DUPLEX)
Synth devices: 0: AWE32-0.4.3 (RAM4096k) 1: Yamaha OPL3
Midi devices: 0: Sound Blaster 16 1: AWE Midi Emu
Timers: 0: System clock
Mixers: 0: Sound Blaster
But yet, on the OSS/Linux demo, it indeed shows Mixers: 0: Sound Blaster 1: AWE32 Equalizer
and /dev/mixer1 indeed interfaces with the AWE equalizer. Since the default settings for the equalizer are __VERY__ undesired (low treble, low volume, low bass, well, that's all three of the settings, so just low everything), I'd like to bring this to the attention of the AWE driver developers.
Keep up the good work!
