Dear friends:

I'm a student from ChangSha Institute of Technology ,China. I have some questions on

Red Hat Linux release 5.0( Hurricane )( kernel 2.0.32 on an i586 ). Regards please.

1. I can not run command "rcp ..." between two users. How can I configure my system?

On SlackWare Linux, I can run "rcp ..." through configuring some files include /etc/hosts.equiv ,

/etc/hosts and /home/UserName/.rhosts .But these Configuration file are not useful to RedHat. If I

run "rcp ..." ,the message of "Permission denied" is sent to me.

2. I have a unlisted EtherNet card, and I have gotten its source code. Compile is successful.

I can use the Net card through inserting some command to /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit file .These commands are

insmod *.o
ifconfig eth0 ...
route add -net ...
route add default gw ...

Now, I think it will be better if my new Net Driver can be added to linux kernel as a part of kernel.

How can I do?

3. X-Window system can not run properly. Once I run "startx", my screen is confused by

two overlapped windows. To me , it is a severe problem.

4. Please mail to shu@astery.ml.org

Thanks!
