SubjectRe: Kernel panic in 2.1.127: login respawns
Yep, does that here too.
CPU is 386DX 40MHz running 2.1.125

ctrl D until respawning too fast on tty1, then on tty2 juste a few
of the same and ... the screen starts scrolling without end. No way
to read anything.

I'll get the lastest kernel, try it and see what happens.
