    Recent development kernels (2.1.12[789]) all broke timidity (software MIDI
    wavetable). For a few seconds it sounds ok, then it's all like 'fast forward',
    sounds really funny... With the RedHat 5.2 kernel-2.0.36-0.7 (It's a pre14, I
    think) it works correctly. But maybe I'm just to dumb to make a sound setup.
    If anyone needs my .config -- to check what I did wrong or just for plain
    entertainment :-) -- just ask, and I'll mail it to you.
