Hello,
First, let me say that I'm thrilled to see 2.1.124 boot on my Alpha Avanti box with TGA framebuffer. Tux looks great! :) One of the reasons I've really wanted to get 2.1.x running on this system is to use my old QIC-117 ftape drive. This is the same one I used to use on my Linux/x86 box all the time for backups. Not exactly modern backup equipment, but beats the heck out of floppies. Anyway, ftape for Alpha in 2.0 is non-existant. It compiles and loads (as module) on 2.1.x, but I can't get it to work. I manually load the ftape, zftape and zft-compressor modules. Here is a sample of kernel logs:

Does anyone have any ideas?
