The latest-known stable is :

eax:/usr/src/LIB-CC-UTIL/lesstif-0.86.5/binary# gcc -v
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-linux/2.7.2.3/specs
gcc version 2.7.2.3

In fact it is what my RedHat 5.1 and Debian 2.0 comes with. (hint,hint,hint)
