When I compile, I usually use .config precedently generated (I run naturally 'make mrproper' beforehand ), run "make oldconfig" or "make menuconfig", which I did this time also, not knowing psaux.c is deleted. That's why I could choose CONFIG_PSMOUSE=m.
This may not be a right way, but it works usually without problems. Moreover, it is convenient.
Now the kernel compiles but dosen't decompress at boot, problem somebody already reported. Recompiled with gcc 2.7.2.3, it boots normally.
