I'm doing the new PPP work, but it probably won't make it into the 2.2 kernel even though I submited the patches long ago. Instead, I'll continue working with it. The generic PPP is available as a patch, but I haven't had much time to update it. It has part of the multilink support there, but not all of it. I actually did a complete multilink async versoin a whlie back but it wasn't accepted because it was too ugly (and it was) and now I can't find my original pppd patch :(
Anyway, if there's anybody that wants to do some coding on MPPP, they can download the patches from my ftp site ftp://ftp.marko.net/pub/l2tpd (you'll have to update it in a couple of places to work on newer kernels. Perhpas I should make the updates myself as soon as I can get a little bit of time). My focus is on doing l2tp with the generic PPP, not on pursuing MPPP, but I did put the necessary placeholders to implement MPPP.
