SubjectSMC EtherEZ

Hello,
I am using an SMC EtherEZ nic with this machine running linux
2.1.125, I have a few problems here. First of all the card is set to irq
10 and io 0x280 but ifconfig (from net-tools 1.46) reports it wrong

<4>eth0: SMC EtherEZ at 0x280, 00 00 C0 2E 80 DB,EEPROM IRQ 10
programmed-I/O mode.

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:C0:2E:80:DB
inet addr:130.113.68.80 Bcast:130.113.68.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:4682943 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:3150808 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:11643
Interrupt:10 Base address:0x290 Memory:c0000-c2000

Is it something I should ignore or Would that be the cause for the number
of collisions I'm getting?

Another question is why am I getting all this in the logs, and a lot of it
too...
