Subject[2.1.125] Alpha + fbcon + kgi = oops
Hello,

I tried to compile kgicon on an alpha 2.1.125 linux box, in order to get
a framebuffer for the video card (a Matrox Millenium II). It required
a little twaeaking to compile (a few #include <asm/current.h> to add),
and I changed the default depth (16 instead of 1). When I insmoded the
resulting kgicon.o, I got two oops. I here dump the first one, and I
would like to know if this is a kernel bug or a kgicon bug.
(plain 2.1.125, UP, options CONFIG_VGA_CONSOLE, CONFIG_FB, CONFIG_PCI_CONSOLE,
CONFIG_DUMMY_CONSOLE, CONFIG_FBCON_ADVANCED, all CONFIG_FBCON_MFB and
CONFIG_FBCON_CFBx, CONFIG_FBCON_FONTWIDTH8_ONLY, CONFIG_FBCON_FONTS and
CONFIG_FONT_8x16; ask me for other details if needed).
