Hmm, I don't see how the patch could prevent an oops, other than by
slightly moving code around. Each kernel version is a little different,
and if the bug is of the stray pointer variety, it might be trashing
unused memory instead of hitting the dentry list.

But please keep testing -- we need to find the cause of the problem.
