I got back tonight and the screen was filled with 60 lines of the message:
Aiee: scheduling in interrupt 00124501
and the machine was locked hard. This message appears in kernel/sched.c. I looked up 00124501 in System.map and it indicated that this is in function __wait_on_buffer(). This occurred when the machine had over 12 days of uptime. It happened one time last fall, too, when the machine had over 10 days of uptime.
This is kernel 2.0.33, with the only modification being addition of the epic100 module for an SMC EtherPower II 10/100 Ethernet card.
Other details on the machine:
Intel Pentium II/233 Giga Pentium II ATX motherboard 128 MB ECC SDRAM DIMM memory Adaptec 2940 UW SCSI controller 3 Micropolis 4.3 GB UW SCSI hard drives, running RAID-0 across the disks Matrox Millenium II 8 MB video card ViewSonic 17PS monitor SMC EtherPower II network card Creative Labs SoundBlaster 64 AWE sound card Altec-Lansing ACS-31 speakers with subwoofer Connectix QuickCam video camera SyQuest SyJet EIDE 1.5 GB cartridge drive CyberDrive 12X EIDE CD-ROM drive
Thanks for any help.
