Apparently this is a common problem with either some (E)IDE drives or the checking algorithm itself:
hdb: QUANTUM FIREBALL_TM1280A, 1222MB w/76kB Cache, LBA, CHS=621/64/63
It should read 128 Kb, not as big difference as yours though :)
