Hi all. Thought I'd bring this to your attention; don't know if anyone else has noticed this.
Linux 2.1.43 #4 Sat Jul 12 18:43:48 EDT 1997 i486
Mem-info: Free pages: 7424kB ( 1086*4kB 357*8kB 14*16kB 0*32kB 0*64kB 0*128kB = 7424kB) Swap cache: add 25006/25006, delete 79574668/23756, find 20735/1186 Free swap: 28868kB 8192 pages of RAM 2229 free pages 531 reserved pages 2054 pages shared Buffer memory: 672kB Buffer heads: 688 Buffer blocks: 672 CLEAN: 190 buffers, 0 used (last=0), 0 locked, 0 protected, 0 dirty LOCKED: 457 buffers, 23 used (last=449), 0 locked, 0 protected, 0 dirty DIRTY: 2 buffers, 0 used (last=0), 0 locked, 0 protected, 2 dirty
The swap cache. delete 79574668 / 23756. Pretty big number. Continually increasing, too.
By the way, I've been running 2.1.43 for about a month now and I really haven't had any problems with it, except for Apache 1.2.1 httpd server completely locking the system up every time netscape accesses localhost more than 3 times at once. A temporary file or two in the apache directory becomes unlinked, fsck.2efs complains about it on the next boot.
