Good maintenance of the 2.0.x kernel takes away alot of the pressure on
us to release a stable 2.2 kernel and will therefore help us with 2.2.
Whatever we do with respect to 2.2, the useful livespan of 2.0 will have to
reach beyond the release date of a stable 2.2.x anyway and I don't want
to see the situation which we already had where many people had to use
development kernels just because the last stable version wasnt' appropriate
for them anymore due to missing features/drivers/bugs or whatever.
