Hi. I am new to this list, but I have a question that I couldn't get answered on the redhat-list. I need to remake my Redhat 4.0 default kernel to exclude ftape which I had successfully added to it some time ago. Now when I remake the kernel, I get no errors, but when lilo tries to boot from it, I get what appears to be a register dump which repeats until I reboot. It looks something like this:
1000 AX:0212 BX:5800 CX:0101 DX:0100.
Can anyone tell me what this is and how to stop it. I just need a kernel which will run without ftape so that I can use the newest version which runs independent of the kernel. Thanks.
By the way, I just joined this list, so please send any responses to vicki@traveller.com. -- -Vicki /// (. .) +=============================oOO-(_)-OOo==============================+ | Vicki Stanfield E-mail: vicki@traveller.com | | | | "We are what we repeatedly do." | | - Aristotle | +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ "Answers make you wise; questions make you human." ========================================================================
