SubjectRe: howto lock 2.1.40 without networking
============ original message begin  =====================
To lock 2.1.40, i don't need netscape nor wait for one or two hours (which
works as well).

I simply
- - log in
- - start fvwm (starts xconsole, xterm, xman, xcalc, xclock, emacs,
xsysinfo)
- - start xxgdb from xterm (get no prompt)
- - try to start another xterm;

I can now only switch between virtual consoles and move the pointer.
No login, no entry in emacs, just hardware reset.
============ original message end ========================

[2.1.39] no SMP locked the kernel using Netscape.

[2.1.40] no SMP not lock my box as for Gerhard.

[2.1.40] works fine for me, no strange lock or crash for now.

If you need more info on my kernel configuration ask me.

Bye!
