You should be seeing something like: May 14 18:18:59 yoda kernel: klogd 1.3-0, log source = /proc/kmsg started. May 14 18:18:59 yoda kernel: Loaded 3612 symbols from /boot/System.map. May 14 18:18:59 yoda kernel: Symbols match kernel version.
What's happening is your klogd is looking for a valid System.map file, and not finding it. Put the one for your current kernel somwhere where your klogd will find it.
