Hi, I just got a General protection fault running 2.0.29 ISS4 patch on a new machine. I was using the slackware 3.0 root disk with a custom boot disk, to check the disk subsystem (with the recently broadcasted shell script to run multiple copies of badblocks to stress-test the disks).
The system is a P-100, with 32 megs RAM. Western Digital IDE disk (1.2 Gb) connected to the on-board EIDE controller (Triton 430FX). No swap was enabled.
Here's the dump: General protection: 0000 CPU: 0 EIP: 0010:[<00120beo>] EFlags: 00010213 eax: 00000000 ebx: 00239fb8 ecx: 00000004 edx: f000ef6f esi: 00000121 edi: 0000000c ebp: 00002000 esp: 00008f9c ds: 0018 es: 0018 fs: 0018 gs: 0018 ss: 0018 Process kswapd (pid 3, process nr 3, stackpage=00008000) Stack: 00000004 00000003 00000000 00000000 01e2ab6c 001245ab 00000004 00000000 00000001 0019465d 00194649 00000000 0012483b 00000003 00000000 00000000 00000100 0000cfdc 00000000 00009000 00109480 00109487 00000000 00012460 Call trace: [<001245ab>] [<0012483b>] [<00109480>] [<00109487>] [<00124608>] Code: f6 42 14 10 74 10 f0 0f ba 72 14 04 19 c0 f0 0f ba 6b 18 02
