I have a PCI realtek clone, only time i got the cable problem message
was... when power on the hub was down.

  Bus  0, device  15, function  0:
    Ethernet controller: Realtek 8029 (rev 0).
      Medium devsel.  IRQ 11.  
      I/O at 0xff80.
