SubjectNexGen-90
I installed this NexGen-90 into my Linux box, and I couldn't be happier.
it was a 486dx2-66, and now this thing just flies. Kernel compile time is
cut in HALF, everything is just faster. But, I do have one problem, and
maybe you kernel guys can help with a patch.

here is my /proc/cpuinfo:

processor : 0
cpu : 386
model : unknown
vendor_id : unknown
stepping : unknown
fdiv_bug : no
hlt_bug : no
fpu : no
fpu_exception : no
cpuid : no
wp : no
flags :
bogomips : 67.17

Linux only detects this CPU as a 386. I wish it would detect it for what
it is, so maybe someone out there has a patch they use for their nexgen. I
want it really bad. I hate compiling this thing for 386. <i don't know
why, it just bothers me :>. Thank you all :>
