Hmmm. if you managed this, you could give your NT "box" a different IP address to your Linux "box" and bring up NT programs on your X server over the network, if you got the relevant software for turning NT progs into X clients.
More seriously; the networking code is working OK for dosemu (apparently), and dosemu will run Windows 3.1. It shouldn't be overwhelmingly difficult to establish an IP connection between the DOS and Linux sides.
What if a display driver for X were to be written for Win3.1 - would there be a huge problem with running Win3.1 in a dosemu, using an X server to display? It'd be a damn sight simpler than wine, wouldn't it?
