I am new to Linux kernel and its debugging. What can I use to debug the kernel? I have tried gdbstub-2.0.30 but it gets an exception when gdbstub is started on the target machine.I am trying to debug a 2.0.30 kernel that I got from installing Redhat 4.2. Any pointers will be helpful.
p.s. I looked at xkdebug but I cannot find a version close to 2.0.30. The closest is 2.1.55 that has patches that very different.
