WinXX doesn't have tcpdump *deep sigh*

heh... yep - another linux machine can login fine :)
It's a prob with WinXX...
on a FWIW it seems the 2.0.30preXX kernels work (just not on this
computer... I have other code that requires 2.1 kernels)
[I use identical TCP/IP configs with both (but different IP addresses of
course :)... and the other machine works]
(and, like I said, 2.1.24 also works on this machine... but it's missing
some features I need for working on the machine)

telnetting into any port on this machine (the classic way to test sendmail
fer instance) fails from winxx. So does ftp. So does WWW. So does
postgres (my job rides on this)....

[incidentally, the other machine is a 486SLC-33 with too little drivespace
and too little ram or I'd move postgres there]

Ah well....
G'day, eh?
- Teunis
