The most reliable option is disconnecting the speaker (if you have a
non-laptop computer, you might rewire the key switch to en-/disable
the speaker). But the software solution works almost equally well; get
hold of the modules utilities. The source code comes with a patch for
the kernel sound daemon "kdsound". This facility can be programmed to
reroute the system beep to your soundcard or to disable it completely.
