I am trying to install X windows on linux. My linux version is 1.2.13 with a patch for IP in IP tunnelling support. I have installed XFree86 version 3.1.2 with files from the elf and common distribution.
I am using a NEC Versa 4050C laptop. My laptop has Super VGA or SVGA video and I installed the file X32SVGA.tgz from the XFree86 distribution. I got the XF86config file for NEC Versa from the Linux laptops home page. I followed the instructions given in the INSTALL document to install the X software.
I was able to run X when I used linux kernel version 1.2.13. But when I added the patch for IP in IP, I get the following error message when I start X. As you see in the error message, PS2 mouse support is recognized.
Any suggestions on what I can do to make this work?
Thanks
