Here is a little patch to the Changes document to let people know about the new Cyclades minor numbers. A customer of our just called with this problem and I didn't find it mentioned in the Documentation directory.
*** linux/Documentation/Changes.orig Mon Jul 8 16:16:34 1996 --- linux/Documentation/Changes Mon Jul 29 12:03:03 1996 *************** ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/M *** 434,439 **** --- 434,447 ---- In the future, fdformat might disappear entirely, so get used to using superformat instead. + Cyclades Serial Driver + ====================== + + The Cyclades driver has been changed so that the minor numbers start + at 0 instead of 32 (ie: ttyC0 should be major 19, minor 0 in the 2.0.x + kernels while it used to be major 19, minor 32 in the older kernels). + You can use mknod to manually fix this or use a newer version of MAKEDEV. + NCR 83c510 SCSI Driver ======================
