Rather user-hostile I think. OS/2 detected the SCSI w/o any problem, and OS/2 is not even known for great hardware support. The board is not PnP or anything else fancy, it is just an aha152x w/o a BIOS.
It seems Linux expects a BIOS. Well, there isn't one. Since OS/2 doesn't seem to use the Win95 "crash until you succeed" policy, I'll guess that the sound card driver at least provides a hint. (something like "if SB16, look for aha152x")
