SubjectRevamped NFS async IO code
Date
From

Hi,

I've just uploaded a modified version of the NFS client code to
ftp://ftp.mathematik.th-darmstadt.de/pub/linux/okir/dontuse .
It features the following enhancements over the current version:

* A single rpciod handles all async calls instead of a fixed
number of biods. This allows better scaling of the number of
outstanding readaheads, and avoids some unnecessary context
switches.

* When compiled as a module, rpciod doesn't start up until an
NFS volume is mounted; when the last volume is unmounted, rpciod
is terminated gracefully.

Please check it out and pound on it. I want to make sure it works properly
before submitting the patch to Linus.

Cheers
Olaf
