I *love* this patch. I have a lot of machines with no keyboard or monitor.
I read the warning about X and indeed I cant run X. It does not like the
/dev/console being 5,255 . In practice this is not a problem because the
machines that really need this feature (in my case) would never run X
anyway. I only ran into the problem when testing the patch on my development
machine. I going to try running screen next. If that works I will really be 
happy.
