I'm sorry, Linus.

But my ppp speeds with 2.2.0e under 1.3.82 seem very nice (what
is nice, anyway?). I get about 4.someodd on uncompressed binary
transfers, and about 3 on compressed. I'm using:

1.3.82
ppp-2.2.0e w/MTU/MRU = 596
US Robotics Sportster internal 28.8 V.34

connected to Another Linux machine of unknown specs

I know that Mazama Software Labs makes a graphical bandwidth meter called
the Mazameter (selss for $20 US); I may get it and do some benchmarking.

Anyone know of some other good and semi-accurate way for me to
consistantly test my ppp speed?
