I had exactly the same problem on 1.3.72, it would happen just after adding swap space. Since I had only installed Slackware 3.0 on the system a few hours earlier I put it down to experience and reinstalled.
I assumed that it was a one off, I just hope it isn't going to happen again, as the system is about to start doing some real work today. Perhaps I should downgrade to 1.3.57 again ? -- Andy Norman andy@focus.demon.co.uk <http://www.users.dircon.co.uk/~focus>
