Ping time is in no way related to network proficiency. Ping time is in
no way related to modem performance. Ping time is an inappropriate
benchmark for contrasting different operating systems, as netcode designs
might sacrifice greater latency for betteer over-all network effeciency.
This is a valid design decision, and should not be denigrated by the
simplistic use of an easily-measured (and fairly unimportant) statistic.
