SubjectLinux 1.3.71 Problem
This is probably a known bug, but I wanted to know if there are any
workarounds for it:

Firstly, ps aux returns floating point exceptions when I try to run
it, everytime,
Secondly, ppp doesn't seem to work.

I have pppd version 2.1 patch 2 (Linux 1.0.1).

What happens is I initiate a ppp seesion with DIP and after it's
connected (I use dip -t and then the term command to be sure it's
connected) and the ppp stream begins to flow I put in the mode PPP
statement, at which time, nothing happens. This used to work with
1.3.20 (in fact I"m on that kernel again, now) and I can't get a ps aux
to work to check on the status of ppp. However I get the message
'network unreachable' when I ping my ppp host. This says to me that PPP
is not connecting/latching. Do I need an updated version of pppd? And
what about ps aux? Is there something I should kow and just don't?

I understand and recognize that the 1.3.xx kernels aren't stable, just
curious if anyone's found/sovled these problems yet.

Please e-mail reponses, if possible.
Thanks,
-Steve
