On bootup this is the message ---cut--- pcibios_init : BIOS32 Service Directory structure at 0x000fb9e0 pcibios_init : BIOS32 Service Directory entry at 0xfbe70 pcibios_init : PCI BIOS revision 2.10 entry at 0xfbea0 Probing PCI hardware. My system is PCI-486, SiS chipset 85C496, 85C497 depending on what chip I look at, motherboard identified as R418, Award BIOS, AMD 486DX5 133 20 megs of ram.
Current kernel 1.3.57, I have tride 1.3.72. 1.3.72 was unstable for me. Here is my .config options relavent
CONFIG_PCI=y CONFIG_PCI_OPTIMIZE=y CONFIG_SYSVIPC=y CONFIG_BINFMT_ELF=y CONFIG_KERNEL_ELF=y # CONFIG_M386 is not set CONFIG_M486=y # CONFIG_M586 is not set I have tried with and without the CMD640 option.
Any ideas, or suggestions? By the was I get around 1 meg per second with hdparm with each harddrive when with a 386 DX 40 I think I got 2 megs per second.
