I got those damn socket destroy delayed messages at startup. I was seeing a lot of them in the late 1.3.x kernels. They are back since 2.1.8
Nov 14 17:30:12 sicel-home-1-4 kernel: Socket destroy delayed (r=0 w=248) Nov 14 17:30:21 sicel-home-1-4 last message repeated 3 times
Still harmless. Here's my net config:
# # Networking options # CONFIG_FIREWALL=y # CONFIG_NET_ALIAS is not set CONFIG_INET=y CONFIG_IP_FORWARD=y # CONFIG_IP_MULTICAST is not set CONFIG_IP_FIREWALL=y CONFIG_IP_FIREWALL_VERBOSE=y CONFIG_IP_MASQUERADE=y
# # Protocol-specific masquerading support will be built as modules. # # CONFIG_IP_TRANSPARENT_PROXY is not set CONFIG_IP_ALWAYS_DEFRAG=y CONFIG_IP_ACCT=y # CONFIG_IP_ROUTER is not set # CONFIG_NET_IPIP is not set
# # (it is safe to leave these untouched) # # CONFIG_INET_PCTCP is not set # CONFIG_INET_RARP is not set # CONFIG_NO_PATH_MTU_DISCOVERY is not set CONFIG_IP_NOSR=y CONFIG_SKB_LARGE=y CONFIG_IPV6=m
# # # # CONFIG_IPX is not set # CONFIG_ATALK is not set # CONFIG_AX25 is not set # CONFIG_BRIDGE is not set # CONFIG_NETLINK is not set
[snip]
CONFIG_NE2000=y
I have two NE2000 clone. A PCI NE2000 Realtek RTL8029 if i remember, and a ISA clone.
