There is a reset_on_panic patch for 1.2.13.

All it lacks is the proc interface...so you set it at kernel load time and
are stuck with whatever value you give it.

Personally, I think people are better off dealing with the "new &
improved" bugs in 2.0.2x than the old ones in 1.2.x.
