I've been having problems with symlinks and NFS. Could someone enligten me, point me in the right direction about the following?
on comet (nfs server):
comet:/files/Store$ ls -l z lrwxrwxrwx 1 apataki users 4 Oct 22 22:35 z -> /usr
on jupiter (nfs client):
jupiter:/mnt/comet/files/Store# df Filesystem 1024-blocks Used Available Capacity Mounted on /dev/hdb6 507423 363848 117369 76% / /dev/hdb5 507423 307012 174205 64% /mnt/old comet:/ 499085 296891 176418 63% /mnt/comet jupiter:/mnt/comet/files/Store# ls -l z lrwxrwxrwx 1 apataki users 1024 Oct 22 22:35 z -> ../../usr jupiter:/mnt/comet/files/Store#
Why is z not a link to /usr but ../../usr ? Is there a way to make an absolute symlink to /usr from /mnt/comet/files/Store/z ?
