Subjectargh! that was wrong too... blame redhat??
basically, what I said before about it being RA's fault that I got DMA
timeouts with sound (and i/o errors to /dev/dsp). (SB-Pro, kernel 2.0.23)
However, it seems now that I only get them if I am running X, but not
otherwise. X is with XFree86 3.1.2, Mach32 server, fvwm95 (redhat's
configs), all default redhat 4.0.

Has anybody else seen this problem? If not, maybe the redhat list would be
a more productive place to discuss this.
